Lauterbrunnen | Gateway to Jungfrau, the Top of Europe

By on February 16, 2015

Lauterbrunnen is a quiet, small town in Switzerland with a population of just under 2,500 people. This stunning Swiss town is known as the gateway to the magnificent Jungfrau mountain and it is from Lauterbrunnen station (bahnhof) that you can take the two hour journey to the mountain!

Picturesque Lauterbrunnen

The beautiful town of Lauterbrunnen reminded me of a typical Swiss town; there are gorgeous views of the Swiss Alps, plus adorable little Swiss houses and some sheep! I thought the best way for me to describe the town of Lauterbrunnen is to show you my photos!

Be inspired!

My main goal from this post is to hopefully inspire you to travel to this beautiful Swiss town, and it is the perfect place to stay if you plan on taking the amazing journey to the Jungfrau mountain! Unfortunately this was the only time on the tour that we had in Switzerland, so I am very keen on travelling back on another trip to explore magnificent views such as these all over again! I am going to leave you with one of my favourite photos that I took in Lauterbrunnen!
